Colonial Golf & Tennis Club provides members with access to four full-size tennis courts, including two clay courts and two hard courts. The courts are equipped with lights for evening play. Members can also enjoy a backboard for practice, a deck and patio overlooking the courts, and a well-maintained tennis building with spacious restroom facilities.
Meet Maja Palaversic, a native of Split, Croatia, whose passion for tennis ignited on the red clay courts of her hometown. Demonstrating exceptional talent from a young age, Maja emerged as one of the world’s top junior players. At just 15, she transitioned to the professional circuit, swiftly climbing the ranks to reach WTA 142 by the age of 17, triumphing over numerous top 10 opponents along the way.
Throughout her illustrious career, Maja proudly represented her country in the Federation Cup and showcased her prowess on the grand stages of the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Her impressive victories include triumphs over esteemed players like Anke Huber, Barbara Schett, Daniela Hantuchova, and Sandrine Testud. With over two decades of experience, Maja is a certified PTR coach dedicated to nurturing players of all ages and skill levels since 1999.
She finds particular joy in mentoring beginners, both young and adult, as well as leading ladies’ teams to success. Maja’s coaching approach emphasizes engaging and effective drills tailored to each player’s needs, ensuring they benefit from her wealth of knowledge and expertise.
